Job Purpose

An exciting position for a suitably qualified and experienced Transport Co-Ordinator / Operator exist at our facility in Durban. The successful candidate will have a valid forklift license and have 4 to 5 years experience in load co-ordination of palletized and non-palletized cargo. The main function of the position will be to co-ordinate the daily loading of cargo onto Bidvest International vehicles as well as the sub-contractors.




Qualifications & Experience

Senior certificate

Computer literate

4 - 5 years working experience in loading co-ordination of pelletized and non-pelletized cargo

Sound working knowlege of harzardous and non-hazourdous products

Valid forklift license

First Aid

Hazchem certification

Fire Fighting

Key Responsibilities

1. Co-ordinate loading with warehouse, checks and verification


Co-ordinate the daily loading of cargo onto BIL (NLH & KZD) vehicles as well as sub-contractors.

To ensure effective resource planning for the volumes planned. Liase with warehouse supervisor/s.

Monitor daily volumes and co-ordinate loading delays.

Understand cargo loading and dispatch procedures.

Ensure BIL Transport operations is updated with changes.

Understand and maintain the requirements and working procedures for loading bags, pails, cases & boxes.

Stock to be loaded vs POD. Verify quantitites. Check for damages.

Flexibility to work operational hours, including standby over weekends when necessary

2. Internal liaison between Warehouse and Transport operations


Ensure load plans are sent on time to warehouse for load/resource planning.



Advise operations of any possible delays based on the plan received.



Update operations with orders picked and ready for loading.



Inquire with warehouse on orders planned but not picked, advise transport operations with feedback.
